Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she was able to move to England when she was sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first foreign student to serve as president of the highly regarded debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the position. Following the graduation ceremony, she became a prominent right-wing syndicated reporter. After a few years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political landscape. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna first gained notoriety when she ran in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of a Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her head of its media division and also included several the other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was very close to her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her character. In her early years she demonstrated the qualities of a leader and is a household name. In her 16th year, she returned to the UK for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and a television host. Additionally, she starred together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with his editorial assistance.
