Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer and television host, as well as philanthropist and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she relocated to England when she was 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student who was elected to this position. After graduation she made her name as a conservative syndicated columnist and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed a voice-based website that offered critical observations regarding the state of affairs. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to share their opinions on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna was first noticed during 2003 when she volunteered in California's recall vote, in the place of Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes named her as one of the "most powerful woman" in media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her head of its media division and also included several additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. While she was very close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her life. In her early years, she displayed her leadership skills that she is still known for. When she was 16 years old the girl moved to her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. The career of a journalist and television host started after her graduation. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She started writing books, taking his help for editing.
