Stephanie Sigman is a Mexican-American actress. Her first role was in the 2011 Mexican crime drama film Miss Bala. The film also featured her in Pioneer (2013) and Spectre (2015). Sigman was a major character in Narcos (2015), S.W.A.T. (2017) and the second season of both shows. Sigman was born to the family of a Mexican mom and an American father, Lee Sigman, who is a New York Yankees scout. Through her father, she is legally a U.S. citizen. [2][3][4] Her brother who is a baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman, was previously engaged to actress Barbara Mori Sigman began her career as a TV actress on Mexican television, before making her film debut in Rio de Oro. She played the lead role of Laura Guerrero (Miss Bala) in the film, which is a Mexican crime-drama. [6] The film was picked for consideration as the Mexican entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Awards. it was not on the final cut. For her film performance, Sigman was nominated in 2011 for the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award. She was a part of the Canadian documentary, Flight of the Butterflies the following year.
